The Story
Growing up in a small Hungarian town in the 1990s shaped the beginning of my journey. It was a time of change and uncertainty after the fall of the Berlin Wall. I quickly learned that hard work and good grades were essential to get ahead.
However, I soon realized that technical skills alone were not enough. To truly succeed, I needed to develop inner strength, build a strong personal brand, and master the art of leading through change.
I have spent nearly 20 years in the dynamic energy and consulting industries. During this time, I witnessed many people struggle to find their voice and reach their full potential. Their challenges resonated with my own experiences: the constant pressure to prove myself, the need to adapt and reinvent.
This inspired me to found The Change Republic. My mission is to make career advancement and personal growth accessible to everyone through executive coaching, personal branding, speaking, and executive learning.
Where It All Began
Like many children in post-Soviet Eastern Europe, I learned that good grades were my path to a better future. Despite excelling in school, I felt constant pressure to prove myself.
My early success as an energy trader was cut short by a sudden reorganization. Despite good results, I was let go. That’s when I started to see: competence alone wasn’t enough and success requires more than just technical skills.
I realized that reaching my full potential required more than just external achievements. I needed to invest in myself, cultivate inner strength, and learn to advocate for myself. This started a journey of self-discovery, where I learned to understand and express who I truly am.
Life, of course, rarely follows a straight path. I studied to be a diplomat, but my career took unexpected turns. Throughout different countries, industries, and jobs, change remained the only constant.
Over the past 20 years, I have met countless people, many of them women, who shared that same perfectionist drive.
I have seen them struggle, hesitant to speak up for fear of not being perfect.
But here is the truth I have learned:
Change is inevitable: I had to let go of always needing to be the best and embrace uncertainty.
Growth requires new skills: I had to learn things they don’t teach in school, like building a personal brand, communicating effectively, and forming strong relationships.
Mastering change is key: Focusing on what you can control, even in challenging times, helps you achieve your goals.
That is why I founded The Change Republic – to help people master the art of change, find their inner strength, and become the leaders they are meant to be.
And in a way, I suppose I did become that diplomat after all – a diplomat of change, helping others navigate the ever-evolving landscape of life and work.
